Where to learn to play guitar
It is very helpful to be able to play the guitar as a church planter. Whether you end up leading worship at some point or not, it is nice to be able to pick up a guitar and lead a song now and then at the end of a message or at a meeting.

If you have some innate musical skills and rhythm invest the relatively minimal time that is needed to learn to be proficient with guitar worship.
• Pick up a chord chart. This is a simple way to learn to play. Most worship songs are written with guitar chords. If you learn about 20 of the most common chords you can play the majority of songs.
• Take lessons at a guitar shop.
• Ask someone who leads worship already to give you tips on getting better. Again, this is what I have done over the years. Most of what I have learned past the acquisition of chords I have gotten from other guitar players.
